Buying Guide – How to Choose the Best Full Size Jukebox Machines
Selecting the right full size jukebox machine requires considering how you plan to use it. This guide breaks down the key factors to help you make an informed decision.
Audio System Quality
The amplifier power and speaker configuration determine how well the jukebox fills your room with sound. Look for models with dedicated subwoofers and multi-channel amps if you want rich bass and full coverage.
Prioritize units with high wattage and external speaker jacks for the best listening experience.
Media Format Compatibility
Decide whether you want to play vinyl, CDs, or digital files. Some models are vinyl-only while others support CDs or streaming. Ensure the device supports the formats you own.
Choose a hybrid model if you want flexibility across physical and digital libraries.
Connectivity Options
Modern jukeboxes often include Bluetooth, USB, and SD slots. These allow you to stream music from your phone or play files from storage devices. Check for auxiliary inputs if you plan to connect other devices.
Verify that the unit has the ports you need for your devices.
Design and Aesthetics
Full size jukeboxes are large statement pieces. Consider the finish color and lighting effects to ensure they match your interior decor. Some models feature rotating displays while others focus on static elegance.
Choose a design that complements your room rather than clashing with it.
Build Quality and Durability
Construction materials matter for longevity. Hand-built units often use better wood and metal than mass-produced ones. Check if the turntable and CD mechanisms are durable enough for frequent use.
Invest in higher build quality if you plan to use the unit daily.
Remote Control and Features
Convenience features like remotes for volume and lighting are essential. Some units include stands for better ergonomics while others offer more complex setups. Ensure the interface is user-friendly.
Look for a compact remote that makes control easy from a distance.
Price and Budget
Full size jukeboxes range from affordable to very expensive. Set a budget based on how much you value audio fidelity versus aesthetics. Remember that higher price often correlates with better build quality.
Balance your budget with the features you need most for daily use.
Space Requirements
These units take up significant floor space. Measure the area where you plan to place the jukebox to ensure it fits comfortably. Consider the depth and width of the unit.
Leave enough room around the unit for ventilation and access to inputs.
How to Use and Care for Your Full Size Jukebox Machines
Start by placing the jukebox on a level sturdy surface to prevent vibrations from affecting the vinyl playback. Ensure the unit is plugged into a grounded outlet and that all vents are unobstructed for proper cooling.
Connect your audio devices using the appropriate cables. If using Bluetooth pair your phone or tablet by entering the pairing mode as described in the manual. Adjust the EQ settings to suit your listening preferences.
Clean the unit regularly with a soft cloth to avoid scratching the finish. Dust the internal mechanisms occasionally if accessible but avoid using harsh chemicals on the plastic or wood surfaces to preserve the look.
